4/30/2023 0 Comments Stuka ju tank buster markings![]() Republican anti-aircraft artillery was pretty primitive, so the Stukas bombed at will-as they were intended to-and even the worst drops typically landed within less than 100 feet of the target. When Bf-109Bs arrived on the scene, the Nationalist rebels soon claimed control of the air. The Spanish war did make it plain that the Ju-87 would be a useful weapon. Had Stukas been used to bomb the important bridge that was the primary target of the raid, the world would have long ago forgotten Guernica. It’s hard to cast a kindly light on any bomber, but the Ju-87 was designed to attack and destroy specific military targets, not civilians. The small Spanish market town of Guernica, the subject of Pablo Picasso’s famous antiwar painting, was bombed by Heinkel He-111s and Junkers Ju-52s, horizontal bombers heedlessly killing civilians as they carpet-bombed, exactly the kind of mission the Stuka was not intended to fly. Nine Ju-87s were also used at one time or another during the Spanish Civil War, but they were operated only occasionally and conservatively.Įven Spanish Nationalist pilots weren’t allowed near them, since they were still considered to be secret weapons. The Stuka’s ugly reputation was also influenced by the fact that the airplane is often envisioned-and frequently depicted in newsreels of the day-pummeling Warsaw and the Low Countries, its “Jericho Trompeten” sirens wailing. Like I have said before, I'm really eager to release more aircraft (military/civillian), helicopters and military vehicles. (And you could keep up with my YT channel to see WIP videos of upcoming mods) It helps me affording the things I need to continue modding (ZM3, model files, etc)Īnd thanks a lot for the support I have received already :) If you like my work and want to see more, please show your support donating. ![]() Thanks to FoxtrotDelta for providing me with the model(s)! Original model from FSX. Ju-87D still had the 37mm cannon collisions, those have been removed Last but not least: Swastika emblems have been removed, but I may provide an optional external link to the original markings in the future. The bomb sling on the D version can be extended (see 3rd screenshot) if you use CamxxCore's bombing script. The gear is fixed and can not be retracted, however a push on the gear button will control the flaps on the wings. Detailed cockpit including working gauges. Both aircraft use the same textures(!) to save file size. The aircraft can be entered by 2 people and the the passenger can man the rear facing MG (not that it really matters in Singleplayer). Buuuuuuut some guys really know their stuff and the version differences, so I kept it clean and made the D version with bombs underneath and the G2 version with explosive cannons. This was initially meant to be a single aircraft only and feature the G2 version with a bomb sling underneath. Later version such as the G2 featured large 37mm tank buster cannons instead of the bomb load to penetrate enemy armor. ![]() The aircraft is infamous for its Jericho trumpets which had a huge psychological effect on enemy troops along with the bomb payload it was about to release. The Ju-87 Stuka (german abbreviation for Sturzkampfbomber=Divebomber) was a famous aircraft of WWII and saw wide use since the beginning of WWII. Textures with original german markings (Swastika replaced by red circle on screenshots) (Optional textures without swastikas included) Custom weapon settings with different tracers, range and sounds Fixed crashes when trying to record with Rockstar Editor
